ADHS Electives

Students select their elective preferences using our Web Preference Portal. Each student will receive an email from noreply@selectmysubject.com.au with instructions on how to submit these, along with their unique access code and password. Whilst we do always allocate students to their first preference, sometimes we are unable to achieve this, and student may get their second or third preference.

Year 7 Students

Our Year 7 students participate in a six term rotation from the beginning of Year 7 through to the end of Semester 1 in Year 8. This rotation allows students to experience a variety of subjects and establish subject they may wish to study further. During this time they get exposure to different subjects and identify areas they wish to study further in future years. Students will continue to study their 6 other core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Science, a Language & Physical Education and Health.

Year 8 Students

As part of the same rotation program that begins in Year 7, our Year 8 students complete their final six term rotation at the end of Semester 1. This has given students the opportunity to explore a range of subjects and pursue further studies into a subject of interest. In Semester 2, they have the opportunity to study an elective of their choice, whilst continuing studies with their 6 core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Science, a Language & Physical Education and Health.

Year 9 & 10 Students

Students in Years 9 & 10 have the opportunity to study 2 electives of their choice. Students are also given the opportunity to drop their language if they no longer wish to study this. In addition to this to their electives, students will continue to study their 5 core classes: English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Social Science & Physical Education and Health.

Application classes (Year 9 & 10)

Students are required to apply for these programs during our intake period, students will be notified when these applications open and close ahead of time giving ample opportunity for them to submit. Some programs we run are below:

10 Advanced Outdoor Education – Students must complete Outdoor Education in Year 9 to be considered for this program.
