Sports Opportunities
ADHS holds annual sporting carnivals for swimming, walkathon and athletics. These whole school events emphasise fun and encourage everyone to participate. The events held at these carnivals allow students to qualify for subsequent Zone and ACT level carnivals. Students that are eligible for the 12 years and under need to follow a different pathway only if they wish to be considered for an ACT representative team. This information is given to this group individually.
In addition to the whole school carnivals, ADHS enters teams in an extensive range of sports in Zone and ACT level competitions reflecting student interest and staffing capabilities each year. Some of the sports ADHS has been represented in are: tennis, rugby 7s, Oztag, super 8s cricket, basketball,rugby league, AFL, touch football, netball, orienteering, badminton, hockey, volleyball, table tennis, buroinjin, soccer, mountain biking, ultimate frisbee, beach volleyball, swimming, cross country, track + field and rock climbing.
