Welcome to Alfred Deakin High School (ADHS). We are a multicultural school, embracing students from 67 different cultures and we have sister schools in China, Indonesia and Japan. We pride ourselves on providing a first class education for our students and offer many extra curricular activities to enrich our students' lives. Explore our website to learn more about all ADHS has to offer.
NAPLAN Testing will occur from the 10th of May till the 12th of May for all year 9’s and 7’s. Allocated on the link below is the scheduled Timetable for NAPLAN testing.
We are inviting parents to bring a device (eg, Chromebook, iPad, Laptop or smartphone) and a kid (hence,” BYOD+K”) and learn about the core google apps we use at ADHS: Gmail, Drive and Calendar. This will be a fun and hands-on session (no, really!) The reason we want parents AND kids is so that we can show how Google Apps for Education can be used to create stronger relationships and improve learning for the 21st Century and beyond.
The device you bring should be able to access our school EDU network (ie, is used by the student) or able to access 3G. We do not have a public/open Wifi.
This session will be very popular and numbers are strictly limited so our Wifi can handle the traffic. To that end we want 1:1 ratio of parents:students. For example, Mr Smith brings his Year 7 daughter. To attend, fill in this online form here (https://goo.gl/nBS4Wm)
If demand outstrips supply, we will run more sessions.
Alfred Deakin's Open School Night will occur on the 18th of May 2016, between 6 - 8pm
Throughout 2016 at Deakin, we are having a renewed focus on writing; in a variety of text types, across all subject areas; some using devices and others with the old fashioned paper and pen.
What are some things that you as a parent can do to support your teenage writer? See the upcoming Deakin Digest article for further information
Alfred Deakin will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on 21st of May, 2016! Historical photo taken in 1966.
The Healthy Kids Association is excited to be providing a healthy food service for Alfred Deakin. Our starting menu is short and sweet, but it allows us to build on your feedback and food tasting opportunities throughout the year to create a popular, tasty menu packed full of freshly prepared lunches, snacks, salads, hot specials and much more. Click on the link below to see the new menu.
The Alfred Deakin High School 'healthy hub' initiative is seeking community support to help fund numerous new projects in 2016, click on the image link below for further information
